Not Everything Sold As Imported Is Imported Quality
Some sellers use the word imported to justify a higher rate, even when fabric and stitching are ordinary. Instead of trusting the label, check the garment itself.
7 Practical Checks
- Fabric feel: soft, even and not scratchy against the inner arm.
- Fabric composition label: clear percentage of cotton or blend, not just a general word.
- Stitching: straight, even seams with no loose threads at the neck, hem and armholes.
- Inside finish: smooth inner seams and soft labels that do not scratch.
- Colour and print: even colour. Do a small wash test on a sample and see if colour runs or print cracks.
- Fastenings: zips, snaps and buttons should be firm and smooth.
- Size consistency: measure several pieces of the same size. They should be nearly identical.
Documents And Labels
Ask for a proper invoice and ask the supplier to explain where the goods are made or sourced. Labelling and packaging rules apply to goods sold in India, so ask your supplier or an adviser what is required for the products you plan to sell.
Do A Wash Test
Wash one sample as per care label, then check shrinkage, colour and shape. A product that fails here will bring complaints from parents.
Trust The Process, Not The Word
A reliable supplier will give you fabric details, size chart and a sample without much fuss. Hesitation is a warning sign.
Ask For A Sample
Request sample and fabric details from BluePeak Global through the B2B page.
